Vacation Accommodations for Wheelers

Our Mission

To provide comfortable accommodations and transportation around the world that meet the special needs of ANY quadriplegic or paraplegic person needing or wanting to travel.

The world we live in today does not cater very well to the needs of persons traveling in wheelchairs.  When many para/quad persons travel, they often encounter various hurdles in finding comfortable accommodations and easy access to transportation.  We have undertaken to resolve these problems.

A common sense solution are dual purpose vacation home facilities.  Initially these facilities will be located in close proximity to international airport cities where the majority of travelers arrive and depart from. (ie. London, Paris, Frankfurt, Brussels, Geneva, Madrid, Amsterdam, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Las Vegas)

Each vacation home facility is built as a duplex, designed specifically for wheelchair users.  An appropriate local community resident that is disabled and using a wheelchair, is selected to act as vacation home facility resident manager and will occupy one side of the duplex.  The other side of the duplex is available for weekly vacation rental.  All duplex resident managers, by serving a liaison function to this organization, work to develop,  improve and update the facilities on an ongoing basis.

Due to the fact the financial resources needed to make these facilities economically viable is beyond the revenue that the vacation home facility will generate, additional financial support will be required from alternate sources.  A global wheelers investment trust will help finance the vacation home facilities.  The trust is funded by corporate donors and wheelchair users.  The investment pool of the trust is currently $1,249,700,000 US dollars.  By generating roughly a 8% per year return, the trust generates about $100 million US dollars per year to help support the vacation home facilities.

The rental accommodations would include the following:

If you think these facilities and services would be of interest to you, please sign up as a member.  A membership is FREE and it also helps us in our ongoing development of services for anyone in a wheelchair.

Here is one SAMPLE of a duplex floor plan designed for a wheelchair user.

If the $1,750 US weekly (7 days & 7 nights, including a vehicle) rental rates seem pricey, I suggest you take a look at the invested capital needed to provide the services.

Additional breakdown of costs:

I prepared cost estimate financial statements for ONE dual purpose vacation home facility.

I created this FICTIONAL web site to help learn web site design.  And in the process, I discovered, through my own travel experiences,  that what I desired when I travel, would help other wheelchair persons as well.  It looks to me that, if we (persons traveling in wheelchairs) want something better than the walking world will provide, we have to start doing it ourselves.

We (persons in wheelchairs) have many extremely talented people in our "club." Surely, if some of us pitch in and lend a hand to a worthy cause, many wheelers can benefit from our efforts around the world.

Like I always say "Don't underestimate a person in a wheelchair!!"
